MAINTAIN has crafted infectious songs with great hooks and harmonies and their musicianship is way above the norm.
MAINTAIN was formed by Gino Garofalo (Bass/Vocals) & Jason Gutierrez (Guitar/Vocals) as a vehicle for songs they had begun writing and recording in 2001. The addition of extremely talented and seasoned pros: Rahsaan Dorsey (Keys/Vocals) & Joakim Ekberg (Drums/Percussion) has created a unit which has far exceeded their musical expectations.
MAINTAIN's funky, soulful grooves combine the influences of artists such as The Isley Brothers, Stevie Wonder, Prince and Hendrix, in an original way that takes the music into a new era. Having played together for 7 years now the band has matured and evolved into a world class recording and touring act. Exciting to see & hear, this is one of the most original bands to come out of the L.A. area in decades. In a sea of copycats and imitators this band truly is a breath of fresh air! The songs that MAINTAIN have created have blossomed over the years without any pre-conceived concepts or formulas. This is a real band expressing themselves the only way they know how: they write and play what they know and feel.
